The input voltage of the DC charging pile is three-phase four-wire AC380 (+15%), and the frequency is 50H. The output is adjustable direct current, which directly charges the power battery of electric vehicles. Since the DC charging pile adopts a three-phase four-wire system for power supply, it can provide sufficient power, and the output voltage and current can be adjusted in a wide range, which can meet the requirements of fast charging.
The flow charging piles, commonly known as "slow charging", are devices that provide power to electric vehicle chargers. The AC charging pile only provides power output and has no charging function. 2. Different charging time
The AC charging pile requires an on-board charger to charge. Due to the low power of the vehicle charger, fast charging cannot be achieved.

Poor charging speed: It takes 8 hours to charge a pure electric vehicle (normal battery capacity) through an AC charging pile after being fully discharged, while a DC fast charging pile takes only 2-3 hours.

The power of the AC charging pile is 3.5KW, 7kW, 22kW, etc., and the charging speed is relatively slow, which is suitable for family and public use. It is usually installed in public parking lots and residential parking lots. After an electric car is completely discharged, it usually takes about 8 hours to charge it through an AC charging pile.
At present, there are many DC charging piles that can charge 70 to 80% of electric vehicles within 30 minutes. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to fully charge, but long-term fast charging has a certain impact on battery life. DC charging piles are generally installed at charging stations beside highways for emergency charging of electric vehicles.
Generally speaking, DC charging piles are larger than AC charging piles because there are a certain number of AC and DC power modules inside the DC charging piles. The higher the power, the more modules and the larger the charging pile. The difference between AC and DC charging piles is more obvious. The gun plug (charging circuit) is different. The DC charging pile is a 9-wire plug, while AC charging pile is a 7-wire plug.
The technical difficulty of DC charging piles is far greater than that of AC charging piles. At present, the price of DC charging piles on the market is significantly higher than that of AC charging piles. The AC charging pile has a simple structure and a small pile body. The input only needs to be connected from the grid, the output is also AC, the cost is lower, and the installation is more convenient. From the perspective of the power grid, AC charging piles have low power and have little impact on the power grid.
